What fits, when to replace it, and which one to buy. We start with 3D printing because it is the hardest technical category. Everything else follows the same proven shape.

Don't know your printer? You are still not stuck. Almost any PLA fits almost any FDM printer at 190 to 220°C, and it is the right answer for most prints. PETG works on nearly all of them too, no enclosure needed. The only things that genuinely need your exact model are ABS and ASA, and which nozzle and plate to buy as spares.
You should never have to know a model number to get an answer from us. Working that out is our job, not yours.
The code is usually stamped on the flat of a nozzle, or moulded into a coupler. Close enough is fine, we will correct it.
These are the numbers people guess at, and guessing is what ruins prints. Real intervals by actual use.
Brass, on plain PLA and PETG. Drops to 150 to 250 hours if you print carbon or glow-in-the-dark, which are abrasive. Tell-tale: rough first layers and under-extrusion that tuning will not fix.
Sooner if you print hot materials. Tell-tale: stringing and inconsistent extrusion after the tube ends bell out and char. A cheap part that causes expensive-looking problems.
Not a time interval. PEI wears in patches where you print most. Tell-tale: first layers lifting in the middle of the plate while the edges still grip fine.
